Separate your sentences by using a comma and a joining word such as and, but, or, nor, or for.

Directions: The following sentences are not separated at all or are separated only by a comma or by a joining word without a comma. Correct the sentences by using both a comma and a joining word such as and, but, or, nor, or for. Remember to use the comma before the joining word.

1. Just inside the room is a large desk, to the left is the door to the supply room.

2. I had heard of such things happening to other people I couldn't believe it was happening to me.

3. Keep your fingers away from the blade they could be cut off unless you are careful.

4. Little children tend to be very destructive nor does it do much good to talk to them about their carelessness.

5. Rinse the hair several times it will not shine unless all of the shampoo is removed.

6. My next-door neighbor buys beautiful clothes but she doesn't like to take care of them.

7. They will deliver the things you buy right to your home you can see and try the products before you pay for them.

8. I like to clean house and rearrange things, while I am working, I listen to music.

9. My brother-in-law has a good job but he never seems to have enough money to pay his bills.

10. I like to listen to a good rock group everyone in my family enjoys the same type of music.
